Chris Jericho makes surprise AEW return after months of speculation

Chris Jericho returns to AEW in Winnipeg

Chris Jericho returned to All Elite Wrestling on Wednesday during Dynamite in Winnipeg, Canada. His entrance music played before a contract signing between Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Kenny Omega. "Winnipeg … AEW … I’m home," Jericho said before leaving the ring.

Jericho had not appeared on AEW programming in nearly a year. He last competed with the Learning Tree faction, which disbanded after he lost the Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Championship to Bandido at last year's AEW Dynasty pay-per-view. The Winnipeg native joined AEW in January 2019 and participated in its inaugural Double or Nothing event.

Jericho became the company's first world champion and later held the FTW Championship. He captured the Ring of Honor world title twice. Months of speculation surrounded his future, including possible appearances in WWE events such as the Royal Rumble.

Jericho made no challenges or announcements during his appearance.
