Top-Ranked Nebraska Hosts Missouri in Suspended Match's Restart
No. 1 Nebraska wraps up its nonconference schedule Wednesday night, hosting Missouri at Bob Devaney Sports Center in a match that effectively resumes an earlier meeting between the two teams. The unbeaten Cornhuskers, at 10-0, face a Missouri squad that arrives at 7-4.
The teams' first encounter this season came Sept. 6 at Chicago's Wrigley Field as part of the Big Ten/SEC Volleyball Challenge, but that match was suspended before completion. Nebraska sits atop the latest AVCA Coaches Poll and has yet to lose this season. Missouri's four losses include defeats to No. 5 Louisville and No. 25 Oregon, offset by wins over Arkansas State, Wichita State, Florida Gulf Coast and Bowling Green. Nebraska dominates the all-time series 74-3-1 and has won 18 consecutive matches against the Tigers, including a sweep in the second round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament - the two programs' most recent meeting before this season.
The match closes out Nebraska's nonconference slate before Big Ten play continues. The Big Ten Volleyball Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 20-25 at Fishers Event Center in Fishers, Indiana, with the championship match set for Nov. 25 should Nebraska advance that far.
